Our Services
We offer many services related to Family Law as listed below but can offer some other services too. Please do feel free to contact us if you don't see listed what you are looking for.
Legal Aid
We hold a franchise with the Legal Services Commission and are able to assess your eligibility for legal aid at any stage of proceedings. Further information can be given on request and appropriate advice given.
Private Costs
If you do not qualify for legal aid, we are able to consider with you the costs implications of advice and representation either within Court proceedings or dealing with matters in correspondence and negotiation on your behalf. Full details of costs implications can be discussed with you and a tailored plan for payment of fees can be considered dependant on your own personal circumstances.
Divorce
Whether you wish to issue divorce proceedings or have already been named as a Respondent in a Petition, we can assist you during every stage of the proceedings. We will ensure that the process is dealt with as swiftly and as amicably as possible at all stages, offering a cost effective, efficient and compassionate service to all of our clients.
Financial Matters
As an inevitable consequence of the breakdown of a marriage or other relationship, there will be financial matters to address. We will assist in compiling a full list of assets, including valuation of the matrimonial home and business assets if necessary, and liabilities. We have good links with local mediation providers and encourage all clients to try and resolve any issues either through mediation or through the Collaborative Law process. If Court Proceedings do become necessary we have the experience and expertise to assist in negotiating a settlement or to dealing with matters in the face of the Court through to a final hearing.
Children
Upon any relationship breakdown, the primary concern will always be for the welfare of the children of the family. You may require assistance in ensuring that your children maintain an ongoing relationship with both of their parents and extended family members, and to ensure that the children are adequately protected from any potential risk of harm (physically or emotionally), or from adult conflict. It may be necessary to issue Court Proceedings for Residence, Contact or Parental Responsibility or any other area of Child Law that may arise.
If these issues cannot be resolved through the mediation or Collaborative processes, then we have the knowledge and expertise to ensure that you are guided through any Court applications appropriately at all times.
Domestic Violence
Domestic abuse is a crime, whether sexual, physical or emotional. We will identify your immediate needs and if necessary assist you with any necessary Court Application. We can also represent you if you have been served with injunction proceedings.
We work with other agencies such as Housing, Social Security, the Police and Voluntary groups who may also be able to support you throughout difficult times and we can discuss with you referral to any such agencies if required.
Public Law (Care Proceedings)
We offer advice and assistance to both parents and children (through their Guardian) during very difficult and often complex proceedings which could ultimately result in the permanent removal of a child/ren from their family.
We are also able to offer advice and assistance in addressing areas of concern that have resulted in the involvement of Social Services prior to the issue of any proceedings.
