The firm opened it's doors to you on 10th June 2002. Jenny Leese decided to create the practice when her previous firm decided, as are many, not to continue to support family legal aid work, now known as Public Funding through the Legal Services Commission.

Her options were either to move on to another firm, or, set up a firm that specialised in family law which can offer both private and public funded clients a specialised service never before in Stoke. She went ahead and created J L Law Solicitors, the first specialised family law firm in Staffordshire.

The existing clients, her colleague, Louisa and their support staff, De Enda and Lisa decided to move together. We started with 90 clients, to date, at the time of activating our web site in May 2004 we have opened 675 files!

The number of clients resulted in our expanding the service we offer to you by employing another expert in our field, Jo Clowes who joined our practice in September 2003, together with Lisa, yes another Lisa!  Find out more on who we are and what we do on 'Our Staff' web page.

We pride ourselves in the service we offer. IT plays an important part in our maintaining the service we aim to offer all our clients, whether you are privately paying or publicly funded. Our efficiency is a result of all our staff being able to use IT, having use of the internet through broadband, e-mail, and access to all updating material relating to family law, and our external and internal training policy, including:

Its not just us who can confirm to you the service we offer, the Legal Services Commission granted us a Category 1 criteria as a Specialist Family Franchised Firm. Our last audit in October 2003 confirmed we had NO non-conformances.
